In the context of the DEAGENCY project, I examine the relationship between the dead and artistic practice, focusing on art as a medium of communication with deceased and other non-human agents.
A second strand of my research explores contemporary internet folklore about the dead and artificial intelligence, especially narratives in which AI appears as a mediator of post-mortem presence.
My broader scientific field of activity lies in folkloristics, historical anthropology and the anthropology of cultural heritage, with a particular focus on ritual practices, dance culture, law and normativity, and the transformation of relationships between humans and non-human agents in contemporary societies.
