Team Meetings

Members of the DEAGENCY team meet every few months to discuss project plans, developments and milestones. Most of our meetings take place at the project’s host institution, the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

In June 2026, we held our 10th project meeting in the unique confines of a typical vintage appartment in the Bežigrad district of Ljubljana.

In April 2026, we visited the Department of Archaeology and Cultural Anthropology, Faculty of Arts, Comenius University Bratislava in Slovakia, the home university of two of our DEAGENCY project members, Michal Uhrin and Tatiana Bužekova.
We held our 9th Project Meeting, organised an International Student Workshop, met Helena Tužinská, professor and department coordinator of mobility and prof. dr. Marta Botikova, a board member of our project’s External Ethical Advisory Board. Our project assistant carried out an exchange of good administrative work and project management practices with Jaroslava Cedzová, the department’s head administation worker, Viktória Laučíková and Juraj Halas of
the FIF UK Project Centre (FiF Projektové centrum).

In January 2026, we held our 8th project meeting at our department. On Wednesday, 28 Janaury 2026, we invited dr. Saša Babič from ZRC SAZU to lead a discussion on Slovene ghost legends.

In September 2026, we held our 7th project meeting at our department. We invited dr. Kaarina Koski from the University of Turku (Finland), to discuss the concept of “agency” and join our round table at European Researchers’ Night 2025 titled “The Dead Among Us: A Round Table on Contemporary Forms of Coexistence with the Dead”.

IneJune 2025, we held our 6th project meeting at our department and welcomed our new project member, Robin Tigran Keršmanc. 

In January 2025, we held our 5th project meeting at our department.

In September 2024, we held our 4th project meeting at our department.

In June 2024, we held our 3rd project meeting at our department.

In January 2024, we held our 2nd project meeting at our department. We organised an online call with members of our External International Ethic Board Mateja Habinc, Marta Botikova, Csaba Meszaros and Zvonko Benković.
Part of our meeting was also dedicated to an International conference titled “Ethical dilemmas in Ethnographic Field Research“, organised by our project members; a lecture and discussion with assist. Polona Jančar from the Psychological Consultation Office at the Faculty of Arts, Ljubljana on “How to deal with your own distress in the face of others’ distress”;and a workshop on “The Communication with the Bereaved” by Tadeja Gotar from the Slovene Hospice organisation.

In October 2023, we held our 1st project meeting at our department.
